I’ve got to say, though, reading will always beat television and movies. Period. Nothing can ever top the experience of reading a book and letting your own imagination create the scenes in your mind. It’s probably why most book-based movies disappoint fans, because we all come into the theater with preconceived ideas of how everyone should look and speak and act, and real-life never approximates our own mental movie reel. It’s even more frustrating when a beloved book is ruined by some director’s “alternative version” and the movie goes completely astray from the original source. There are those beautifully done faithful adaptations (Lord of the Rings, ala Peter Jackson, anyone?) but those are unfortunately very very rare.

So anyways, I’ve compiled a list of my top recommendations in alphabetical order by author. Genres are wide and varied, from historical fiction, action/adventure, and fantasy, to romance novels, comedies, etc. I’ll probably get around to reviewing them someday, cause lots of them have interesting origins, ideas, etc. And if any of you guys would like to recommend a book you think I’d enjoy reading, just contact me!
