Asian Dramas I’ve Watched
I’m an Asian drama/movie addict, and I decided to keep a running list of all the dramas I’ve watched so far and to note my favorites. Go watch them! Your best bet is usually either MySoju or to download BitTorrents.
Korean
- Autumn Tale (Endless Love)
{ The cliched Kdrama – someone has cancer, long lost loves/siblings, and someone dies. I only watched it because Song Hye Kyo is in it and I loved her in “Full House.” But all she does in this one is look sad and cry a lot. I kept skipping episodes just to see what happened in the end (and I’m sorry, I know that final scene is supposed to be tragic but I laughed instead). Not my cup of tea. } - Full House
- My Sassy Girl
- The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince
{ I think this has become my all-time favorite drama. Comedy, romance, a great soundtrack (I’ve found so many new songs just watching the drama) – it’s all here. And no one dies! }
Japanese
- 1 Litre of Tears
{ Oh so sad but oh so beautiful at the same time. Very moving and inspirational. I guarantee you’ll cry unless you’re just that coldhearted. Sawajiri Erika (Kito Aya) was absolutely amazing in her role; too bad she ended up being the Britney Spears of Japan. } - Hana Yori Dango
{ I adore Inoue Mao and Oguri Shun is unbelievably hot. Enough said =) } - Hana Yori Dango II
{ Eh. The sequel dragged and the plot was cliched and stupid. Angsty, yes, but half the time I just wanted to slap everyone and tell them to get their act together. Not a good sign. }
Taiwanese
- Meteor Garden
{ The Taiwanese version of Hana Yori Dango. Never finished because it got tedious and everything took so freaking long to happen } - Silence
{ One of my very favorites. Vic Zhou is yumminess incarnate and Park Eun Hye is a really talented actress. Lots of (probably unintentional) funny moments, angst galore, a beautiful romance. Though both the boyfriend and I snickered at the ending because it was kind of silly. SPOILER: He just died there on the hill. What did he expect her to do after, roll him down? }

I’ve watched My Sassy Girl and 1 Litre of Tears back when I was into k-drama. 1 Litre of Tears is true to its title because I really did cry about that much. lmao
The only one I watched was My Sassy Girl because I heard such rave reviews about it, and sad to say, but I did not like it at all. All the funny moments weren’t so funny and over all, I thought it was pretty boring.
Why haven’t you watched Devil Beside You?
I like the Korean version of Boys over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango). I found the Japanese version too overacted, and besides, I like how Jan Di kicks Jun Pyo’s face in. Lol
